Para su aplicación se aplica un poco de pasta en una esponja o paño de microfibra y se aplica en una capa fina en círculos sobre la superficie sin aplicar presión. Se espera a que se seque el producto. Y luego con un paño de algodón o microfibra se retira también con movimientos circulares.

Para qué sirve la cera para autos
Encerar un auto, como su nombre lo dice consiste en aplicar una capa de cera sobre la pintura con el objetivo de conservarla. Por lo general, la cera viene en varias presentaciones líquida o pasta, ambas pueden estar hechas de componentes naturales o sintéticos.

Ceras naturales
Las ceras naturales como su nombre lo indica su origen se origina en la naturaleza. Pueden ser de origen animal o vegetal. La cera mas común de este tipo es la cera de carnauba, que proviene de una palma brasileña. La forma de aplicación de las ceras naturales normalmente es a mano ya que con pulidora se pueden quedar debido a la fricción. La duración de este tipo de ceras puede alcanzar los 3 meses.

Cera Sintética
La cera sintética es una cera fabricada con polímeros. Los polímeros tienen la capacidad de repeler el agua. Esta propiedad se llama la repelencia al agua y es la capacidad que tiene una superficie de no ser mojada o humedecida por una gota de agua. Los polímeros que tienen esta capacidad se llaman hidrofóbico (repelente al agua) y si absorbe el agua es llamado hidrofílico. Por supuesto las ceras sintéticas son fabricada en base a polímeros hidrofóbicos.
Las ceras sintéticas son mas resistentes que las naturales y tienen una duración mayor hasta de 9 meses para las mejores y mas modernas. Al mismo tiempo son mas fáciles de aplicar por lo que son una opción muy buena para aplicarla en los autos, ya que se pueden aplicar tanto con maquina como a mano.
Como aplicar cera para autos correctamente
Los distintos tipos de ceras pueden venir en presentaciones que se pueden aplicar en sprays, pastas o cremas.
Es importante resaltar que las ceras tanto líquida como en pasta se aplican de la misma manera. Para aplicar la cera liquida o en pasta, tienes que:
Paso 1. Con un aplicador o paño de microfibra aplicar la cera en una capa fina sobre la superficie del auto sin ejercer presión.
Paso 2. Esperar a que se seque la cera sobre la pintura.
Paso 3. Una vez que este seca se comienza a frotar en círculos normalmente con una paño de microfibra limpio y seco. En la medida que se haya obtenido una superficie brillante se ve si se aplica una nueva capa de cera o no.
También tenemos las ceras que se aplican durante el lavado del automóvil o con la superficie mojada. Este tipo de cera se aplica con el automóvil mojado, luego se seca con un paño de microfibra y el auto queda con una capa de cera protectora.

4 errores comunes al encerar el auto
- Uno de los errores más comunes que podemos cometer es encerar el auto bajo el sol, aunque actualmente muchas ceras de calidad se pueden aplicar de esa manera, es preferible hacerlo bajo sombra. ¿Por qué? el sol evapora la cera mucho más rápido de lo normal y no dejará que esta se adhiera bien a la pintura. Así que si planeas encerar tu auto hazlo bajo sombra.
- Otro error fatal es aplicar la cera sin haber lavado el auto primero. Usar cera sobre una superficie sucia atrapara la suciedad entre la pintura y la capa de cera, previniendo el escape de todos los contaminantes y además puede dañar la pintura de tu auto. La regla de oro es “lavar el auto antes de aplicar la cera”.
- Usar mucha cera es otro error muy común, existe una delgada línea entre suficiente cera para proteger tu auto y otra es aplicar una gran cantidad de cera.
Lo correcto es aplicar capas delgadas y en caso de necesitar más se van aplicando gradualmente… si después de encerar tu auto el brillo no te satisface no pierdas la calma. Dale tiempo a que la primera capa haga su efecto y aplica una segunda capa después.
Dato curioso: Generalmente la cera tarda un día en adherirse a la pintura de manera óptima.
- Retirar la cera antes del tiempo necesario reduce su efectividad, deja actuar la capa de cera al menos por unos 10 minutos antes de quitarla, si la quitas inmediatamente después de haberla aplicado tu auto lucirá igual que antes.
Si no estas seguro haz la prueba del dedo pasa tu dedo por un panel con cera si al hacerlo la cera se quita sin ningún problema y revela una parte limpia entonces ya la puedes quitar, de lo contrario si se embarra debes dejarla más tiempo.
Ventajas de usar cera para autos regularmente
Al encerar tu auto proteges tu auto contra daños superficiales ya que la superficie protectora crea una superficie resbaladiza que evita que se peguen partículas de sucio o agua que la dañan.
